The Challenge

Air racing is known as the world's fastest motor sport, and Reno, Nevada is one of the few remaining venues where you can witness it.

Flagship was brought in to film during the three-day event to build a short teaser supporting the development of a reality show.

Development footage carries an unusual burden. It isn't the show — it's the argument that the show should exist, shot before anyone has decided it will. It has to establish a world, a stakes level, and a visual identity, all from an event that will not be repeated for another year.

The Work

Three days of B-roll across the full event, cut into a short teaser and scored in-house.

Aircraft racing at those speeds is a coverage problem before it's a creative one. You're capturing objects moving faster than anything else that will ever cross your frame, in a venue where access determines everything about what you can shoot.

The Result

A teaser built to sell a world — the kind of piece that gets made before there's a green light, precisely so there can be one.
